Comment Translation
Every comment and reply in the editor can now be translated into the language selected by the user in Keylabs platform settings. To do this, simply click Translate in the comment window or in its view window.
Translation is available into English, Russian, Ukrainian, and Chinese regardless of the original language. At the same time, user mentions, links, and class names remain unchanged. The Show original button allows you to return to the initial text.
The translated text is saved alongside the comment and automatically displayed to other users with the same interface language. When editing the original comment, the saved translation is reset.
The feature is available to all project members, including clients, if the Enable translation option is toggled on in the project configuration.
New Comment Status "On Hold"
A new On Hold status has been added for comments, allowing questions that require a client's response to be separated from comments ready for work.
You can move a comment to the new status using the Put on hold button in the editor or on the project Comments tab, including via bulk actions.
On hold comments are highlighted in purple and marked with a distinct icon. They are not counted as open comments and can be found using dedicated filters in the editor and on the comments page.
To monitor such comments, separate columns with comment counters can be added in the project list and on the Files tab.
Clients can view comments with the On Hold status, but cannot assign this status themselves.
Announcement Management via AI Assistant
The AI assistant now supports managing project announcements. With its help, managers can view published announcements and read statistics, create drafts, publish new announcements, and edit existing ones.
The assistant also allows archiving, restoring, and deleting announcements, as well as choosing during an update whether team re-acknowledgment is required.
Announcements can be copied between projects of the same client. In the target project, they are created as new, members receive notifications, and repeated copying does not result in duplicates.
Before executing actions, the assistant displays a confirmation window with the announcement text. To copy, the user must have manager permissions in both projects.
Bulk Actions by File List via AI Assistant
The AI assistant can now perform bulk operations on files based on a pre-prepared list of names.
To do this, you can attach a .txt, .csv, .md, or .json file containing up to 10,000 file names and describe the required action.
The assistant supports assigning files, moving between stages, changing deadlines, tags, and attributes, resetting and deleting files, as well as renaming objects.
File names are matched strictly by exact match. If some files are missing from the project, the assistant lists them in the confirmation window and the final response.
Pinning Projects on the "My Assignments"
Page On the My Assignments page, it is now possible to pin frequently used projects to the top of the list.
To pin, simply click the star icon next to the project name. Clicking it again will unpin it.
Pinned projects are displayed above others, with the current work shift project always remaining first.
Selected pins are saved to the user's account and do not affect the favorites project list.
Improvements
Editor
- Support for AI tools for streaming video. SAM 2.1 and SAM 3 segmentation, including text prompts, as well as object tracking now work with streaming videos and their segments. AI takes the exact frame from the video where the user is currently located. In case of a frame read error, the editor displays the specific reason.
- Accelerated SAM 2.1 tracking. Tracking speed has been increased by approximately two times without loss of quality. Split request processing reduces click latency and the likelihood of long operations being interrupted.
- Customizable numeric keypad keys. Num 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and Num +/- keys can now be assigned to any actions. Navigation keys Num 2, 4, 6, and 8 also support remapping. Added the Selection Tool command (default ), which also works when editing masks.
- Navigation through visible objects. The Previous Object and Next Object commands (Ctrl+Left / Ctrl+Right) now skip objects not present on the current frame and objects of hidden classes. When Hide All Objects mode is enabled, the commands are not executed.
Export
- Accelerated export of long videos. Exporting videos with sparse annotations now mainly depends on the number of annotated frames rather than the total recording duration. Memory consumption has been reduced and mask processing accelerated. Keylabs JSON, COCO, and YOLO formats remain unchanged.
Projects
- Copying announcements during cloning. Published and archived announcements are now transferred to the new project along with content and images. Drafts are not copied, and read marks are reset.
- Copying project name. A new icon next to the project name in the page header and in the context menu on the projects page allows copying it with a single click without a link.
Announcements
- Quick switching between announcements. A list with read statuses has appeared in the announcements window. You can open any announcement, and after clicking I have read it, automatically navigate to the next unread one. The Later button postpones only the announcements opened by the user.
Files
- File reset history. Resets are now recorded in the stage change history, indicating the user, timestamp, and operation type. Annotation deletion is also reflected in its history. Double counting of files in progress reports has been resolved. Reset history is tracked starting with version 2.8.
- Current stage display. The Change stage context menu now highlights the stage where the file is currently located.
- Parameter protection when adding files. The file path from cloud storage can no longer be edited manually. For streaming video, automatically detected parameters, including resolution and frame count, are also locked.
AI Assistant
- Context of the current project. The assistant now considers the project from which the chat was opened. Its name is displayed above the input field and in confirmation windows. If the project is not identified, the assistant prompts for clarification.
- Safety of bulk operations. Bulk changes require explicit specification of files, stages, or tags. Actions affecting all files are executed only upon direct user request.
- Multilingual class schema. The assistant automatically generates names of classes, attributes, and options in English, Russian, and Ukrainian. Populating missing translations without recreating existing elements is supported.
- Increased reliability and reports. If a request hangs, the assistant switches to a fallback model, supports more actions per request, and reports completed steps upon reaching a limit. In Google Sheets, numeric formats are preserved, and new columns are added to the existing table.
- Renaming chats. Chats can now be renamed (up to 60 characters). Opening the panel restores the last selected chat, and a new empty chat is not recreated.
My Tasks
- Full stage names. Launch buttons now have equal width and show the full stage name on hover.
Users
- Updated norm units. The Object option has been removed from the list. Available options are Not set, File, and Instance. The previously selected Object value is retained until the setting is changed.
Classes
- Platform version in export. Class schema export now contains the Keylabs version to simplify transfers between installations. Importing files with and without a version is supported.
Deployment and Integrations
- MongoDB 9.0. New installations use MongoDB 9.0. Existing ones can be upgraded sequentially with data verification after each stage.
- Amazon Bedrock. Added support for running Claude models for the AI assistant via Amazon Bedrock.
Fixes
Editor
- Attributes of objects not present on the frame – In video files, the Attributes panel displayed attributes of a selected object even on frames where that object was absent, as if it were still present. Now it only displays objects present on the current frame, states "No selected objects on this frame" if there are none, and in the object list attribute values on such frames remain blank.
- Ctrl+C copies selected text – If an object was selected, selecting comment text or an attribute name caused Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on Mac) to copy the object instead of the text. Selected text is now copied properly; clicking the canvas deselects text, and subsequent Ctrl+C copies the object again.
- Fragmented MP4 files repeating the first second – Some fragmented MP4 files displayed only the first second across the entire timeline. They now play and seek correctly. Upon opening such a video for the first time after the update, it loads slightly longer while being re-read. If the editor still cannot frame-index the file, it explicitly reports this and explains how to fix it instead of saving an incorrect frame count, and the upload and file addition windows show a ready-to-use command to repackage such a file.
Projects
- Clone preserves mapping file – Cloning a project with Files now also copies its mapping file, so the new project configuration displays the mapping rather than an empty field.
Announcements
- Long "Who read" list – In projects with a large number of members, the Who read window extended beyond the bottom edge of the screen. The list now scrolls within the window, while the header and close button stay pinned in place.
Users
- Project manager sees only their own projects in the user window – Project manager, opening User projects from the user list, used to see all projects of that user. Now the list only includes projects managed by that specific manager.
